The Canal
Elwood is lovely and quiet. It reminds me a fair bit of Fairfield in Victoria, BC. You know, old homes and pretty gardens close to the waterfront. There's a canal here that snakes through the neighbourhood and empties out into the Bay.

Dirty Floors are Everywhere.
I remember when working at Belmont Secondary sometimes meant having a good whinge about how much dirt and filth the students tracked in, how much garbage they chucked about, and how we needed a more caring school culture (or at least more hours for the custodial staff!) to be able to have a clean working and learning environment.
Well, dirt is everywhere, folks…and it’s here at the VCA too! We sit on the floor a good deal for one of our courses, and this was what accumulated on Nadia’s notepaper after a little while. ...and it did distract me from my learning...and then, of course, I distracted everyone else because I had to draw their attention to it....and we laughed, but it's just a vicious cycle!
I don’t know what’s worse…long human hair or what appears to be short human hair and rabbit poo.

#10 The Interior
Let's start with...
The kitchen. You gotta love the stainless steel appliances ("white goods" here), but the mirrored backsplash shits Chris! He has ordered a laser print of a red Bird of Paradise to hide the inevitable grease splatters and grime. A very distinctive design choice. (As you will recall from the St. Kilda place, red is Chris's accent colour.)
And...this is the view from my tiny window in my bedroom. There’s a council law here that new 2-story dwellings must have frosted windows to ensure privacy for the neighbours. It’s a bit too bad because that means that most of my window view is obscured. However, let's imagine that I might have a neighbour who likes to walk around their backyard naked...and if it's NOT a pretty sight, (the naked neighbour...not the garden!), then I guess the frosted glass is a good thing!

The Elwood Exterior
We’ve moved into the Elwood place. All things being considered, it went pretty smoothly. It’s a new apartment that Chris bought off plans, and there are still some things that need to be finished…. (my bath/shower for instance!) ,but it’s beautiful, and things will be finished quickly if Chris has anything to say about it!
The building is a combination brand new units at the back, and a heritage home that’s been divided and converted into townhouses. This is a front view.
Down the side walkway to our entrance.
The Balinese inspired lighting fixtures in the entry.

Moving to Elwood means...
Quiet, leafy boulevards. No more tourist crowds on Acland Steet on the weekends, and no more screams from the rollercoasters at Luna Park!
Chris and I are moving this weekend to his new place in Elwood! (Just 5 minutes down the road!)
Here's my new mailing address...if you are inclined to send me something.
(You know, like a letter or a postcard or something...)

Meet the Alpacas
Matt and Jasmina own 2 funny alpacas. They run with the neighbour's cows. I'd like to introduce them to you...
BUNDY:
Tall, dark (like Bundaberg Rum) and handsome.
Mysterious (I think it’s mostly the wooly look! He’ll get a shearing in September.)
Favourite Food: Hay.
Favourite Band: Guns and Roses
CHARLIE:
Sports the blonde surfer dude look.
If he could change anything about himself it would be: His teeth.
Favourite Colour: Turquoise
Favourite Footy Team: Carlton Blues
